The Irony in the Title Nothings ChangedIn my opinion nothings changed is a tragic and revengeful poem, whichreveals the veracity of the way nothing has changed even by and byapartheid.The poem is set in District sextette, Cape Town, South Africa and was create verbally by Tatamkhulu Afrika. A man who once witnessed the solace andrecreation of territorial dominion six.There is an ample of irony in the title nothings changed. District sixhas changed physically but in no other way.For starters in stanza unrivaled the man is walking through district sixwhich has been evicted of the ethnic cultures and kinda beeninhabited by whites. Through this stanza we discovered that districtsix is unbroken a shambles into trouser cuffs, cans, trodden on. Thismeans that no one real cares about it anymore. Another factormentioned are the majestic weeds. The color purple is often referred toas dried blood (hence there must experience been a massacre). The scatteredrubbish and the purple weeds ( in this case symbolising death) are allironic because during apartheid people were being killed/ beaten and...
